Just wanted to let everyone know I got home safely this afternoon. My persistence to camp out all night at O'Hare and try to keep my place on the standby list to MCO eventually paid off, so I managed to get home before my confirmed flight Saturday night to Jacksonville.
Tears in my eyes, I was never was so happy to be in Florida humidity.
Hallelujah.
Edit: I just noticed that this post and the previous post were both posted on the same day (Friday). I never would have believed that until I saw it. It feels as though 3 days have passed since I posted the previous one from a sports lounge at the old, musty Hilton attached to ORD.

Glad you made it home okay, you sounded stressed last night. I think O'Hare is the worst airport in the nation for delays, so please don't base your job decision on delays in Chicago! The rest really aren't *that* bad.
Should you find yourself in a similar situation, you can always fly to Tampa on short or no notice and stay at our place.
I was not in a sound state of mind that night!
What happened to cause all your transportation woes in the first place? Snow? Cancelled flights?
According to United, "It's spring break, ma'am." TONS of travelers with no additional flights to compensate because of cost-cutting = SEVERELY overbooked flights and lots of bumped travelers, me being one of them. I never want to go through that again. If you ever find yourself traveling during the last couple of weeks of March, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to the airport THREE hours early for a domestic flight. Seriously. The standby list to fly just from ORD to MCO on the morning of March 21 was 82 names long.
